Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores.This is a problem which is encountered by almost everyone at the time of adolescence. Its prevalence is similar for both sexes. There are many factors responsible for acnes occurrence, but behind every factor there is only one cause and that is chronic inflammation of blocked pilosebaceous follicles (mainly hormonal imbalance). According to Ayurveda it is known as yowan pidika and it is vat and kapha, two main doshas that are responsible for this problem.
